Christchurch Landscaping - Landscape Architect / Landscaper (Hybrid Role)

We’re looking for a Landscape Designer who enjoys both the creative side of design and getting out on site to bring those ideas to life. This is a hands-on, varied role with real opportunity to grow.

About the role

This is not a desk-only design job.

You’ll be working with clients to design outdoor spaces, but also getting involved on-site — placing plants, supporting installs, and helping ensure designs are delivered properly.

When design work is quieter, you’ll be part of the landscaping team, getting stuck in and learning the practical side of what makes a great garden work.

There’s also an exciting opportunity to help us build and grow a future online landscape design offering, so if you’ve got ideas in that space, we want to hear them.

What you’ll be doing

• Meeting with clients and turning ideas into practical designs
• Creating concept and planting plans
• Visiting sites, measuring, and problem-solving
• Supporting installs, plant placement, and landscaping work
• Working closely with our landscaping team to bring designs to life
• Contributing ideas to help grow our design services (including online opportunities)

What we’re looking for

You might be early in your career or already experienced — what matters most is your attitude.

• Experience or training in landscape design
• Good plant knowledge (or a strong willingness to learn)
• Comfortable talking to clients
• Happy to roll up your sleeves and work on-site
• Practical, team-focused, and reliable
• Interest in growing something new, not just maintaining the status quo
