String of Pearls Senecio 8cm

Commonly known as string-of-pearls or string-of-beads, it is a creeping, perennial, succulent vine with bright green beads down the length of the hanging vine. White flowers in summer. Ideal for hanging baskets. Prefers a warm, well lit position. 

Habitat: Can grow to a mature size of 60cm long. Ideal for hanging baskets or trailing over a shelf edge. 

Light: Thrives in bright indirect light.

Water: Water every 1-2 weeks, soil should be left to dry out completely in between watering. Can be prone to root rot if sitting in very moist soil. 

Humidity: Medium / high humidity. Can mist 3 times a week to help with humidity level.

Soil: Re-pot into Oderings houseplant potting mix

Fertiliser: Use a Liquid fertiliser once a month in the growing season

Flower colour: Small white flowers with long red stamens and bright yellow anthers on 1½ inch long peduncles, rarely flowers indoors. Has a cinnamon-like fragrance

Pests:  Aphids are most common and can be found on new growth

Poisonous for pets: Mildly toxic to pets and humans if ingested.
