As winter draws nearer, we must turn our attention to protecting the sensitive plants from icy clutches. Although many find the task of covering and uncovering a little arduous, the benefit of having a beautiful, healthy garden is well worth the effort. This frost cloth is 30g weight.
Frost guard is a lightweight, spunbonded frost protection fabric. Lay over crops & plants to help prevent frost damage. Can be laid directly over crops & plants, alternatively use over cloche hoops. Economical this UV stabilised, and light weight product lets air & water permeate. Frost guard can be laid directly over plants but should not be left in direct contact during sunny or hot days. Frost guard can enhance plant growth during the winter months by trapping warmth under the fabric. Growers have reported temperature increases up to 6 degrees when used as a plant or cloche cover. Frost guard can be pinned to the ground using steel staples or plastic pins. In row applications, the edge of the fabric can be buried in earth to help prevent wind lift.
Generally the cloth only lasts one to two seasons. Because it does not let the sunlight through it needs to be removed daily and dried before reusing.
