High in fibre, vitamins and minerals Yams have been a popular crop for New Zealanders for generations.

Plant from late July until mid October approximately 3 - 5cm deep and 30 - 35cm apart. It is recommended that if you are in regions that have frosts, leave your yams in the ground to get frosted a few times. This then enhances the flavour. If your garden doesn't become water logged over winter, you can leave your crop in the garden for a few months.

Keep in a dark place till required for eating.
