Grow your own saffron, one of the world's most prized spices, right in your own garden. Graded between 2.0cm and 3.5cm, these quality saffron corms are ideal for gardeners looking to establish a productive saffron patch at an affordable price.

Planted in summer, they will develop strong root systems and adapt quickly to local growing conditions. While occasional flowers may appear in the first autumn, these corms are primarily intended for building a long-term saffron patch rather than providing an immediate harvest. As the corms multiply and mature, flowering and saffron yields increase year after year.

Suitable for garden beds, raised beds, pots and containers, saffron thrives in a sunny position with well-drained soil. As a hardy perennial, the corms will naturally multiply over time, rewarding you with increasing blooms and larger harvests each season.

Size: 2.0 cm to 3.5 cm diameter

First-Year Expectation: Moderate first-year bloom; focused on strong root establishment and underground splitting

    Planting & Care

    • Position: Full sun.

    • Soil: Free-draining soil.

    • Planting Time: Summer (December–February).

    • Planting Depth: 10cm deep, spaced 10cm apart.

    • Flowering: April–May.

    • Watering: No additional watering required when grown in the ground. Avoid excess moisture during summer dormancy.

    • Harvesting: Pick flowers in the morning and carefully remove the three crimson threads. Dry thoroughly, then store in an airtight container.

    • Maintenance: Lift and divide corms every 3–4 years to encourage continued growth and flowering.

Best For: Mass planting, border drifts, kitchen gardens, and growers wanting to multiply stock over time

Planting: Plant 10cm deep and 10cm apart in full sun during summer. Flowers appear April–May.
