Aloe Vera

Mint Mania
Aloe Vera is a popular succulent grown for its fleshy leaves and soothing gel. Easy to care for and highly drought tolerant, it makes an attractive addition to patios, conservatories, and sunny garden spaces..

Best Growing Conditions

Aloe Vera grows best in full sun to partial shade and requires excellent drainage. Choose a warm, sheltered position protected from frost.

Planting

Plant in a free-draining succulent mix or sandy soil. Avoid heavy soils that retain excess moisture, as this can lead to root rot.

Watering Requirements

Allow the soil to dry between waterings. Water sparingly during winter and avoid leaving plants sitting in wet soil.

Feeding & Maintenance

Feed lightly during spring and summer with a succulent fertiliser. Remove damaged leaves and divide offsets as they develop.

Growing in Pots

Aloe Vera thrives in containers and is ideal for patios and indoor spaces. Choose a pot with good drainage and use a quality succulent potting mix.

Harvesting

Harvest mature outer leaves as required by cutting close to the base of the plant.

Uses

The clear gel inside the leaves is commonly used for soothing minor skin irritations and burns.

Health Benefits

Aloe Vera has long been valued for its soothing and moisturising properties and is commonly grown as a useful household plant.
