Phormium Taya is a relatively large cultivar with broad, sword-shaped leaves that are a dark blue-green color with a slight purple tint. The leaves have a distinctive arching habit and are often twisted, adding visual interest to the plant.

In the summer, it produces tall, slender stalks that rise above the foliage and bear small, tubular flowers in shades of red, orange, or yellow. 

Easy care and will grow in any reasonable soil or climatic conditions including coastal areas.
