A compact, evergreen variety that produces short, thick and juicy stems year round, a great variety for pots and containers. Stems are bright ruby red at the bottom fading to green at the top. Good disease resistance. Edible reddish-coloured stems are used in desserts, preserves and cooked dishes. Ideal planted in garden beds or large pots where it will remain undisturbed.

Before planting cultivate soil to a depth of 20cm and mix in compost and complete garden fertiliser. Use Oderings Potting Mix for containers. Feed with blood and bone during the warmer growing months.
