Asparagus Pacific Challenger

The Pacific brand is the only New Zealand bred variety of asparagus, bred by Aspra Pacific for New Zealand conditions. They are frost tolerant. The best time to plant asparagus is when soil temperatures rise in spring. Plant crowns in a well-drained, sunny location. Asparagus are a low risk, permanent crop with a well-kept asparagus bed lasting up to 20 years.

Pacific Challenger is a green variety with a high tolerance to phytophthora.
