An excellent gourmet variety this relatively new vegetable is a cross between cauliflower and broccoli, tasting more like cauliflower with a slightly milder and sweeter flavour than broccoli. Broccoflower originates from Italy and ranges from lime-green to green-yellow in colour. Most are smaller, lighter in weight and less crisp and dense than a white cauliflower.
