A popular ornamental large shrub known for its bright red bottlebrush-shaped flowers that bloom in spring and summer, excellent for attracting nectar feeding birds and insects. It is prized for its dense, upright growth habit and its long-lasting, showy flowers that attract birds and insects. The leaves are narrow and green, with a leathery texture.

It is drought-tolerant once established and can also tolerate light frost. Callistemon "Kings Park Special" can be used as a feature plant in the garden or as a low-maintenance hedge. It is also well-suited for growing in pots.
