A small clumping herb with hairy green leaves and drooping clusters of tubular mauve flowers in summer and autumn. Thrives well in full sun to part shade in well drained soil rich in organic matter. Leaves break down quickly to make a great mulch to compost. This plant has invasive tendencies so grow in a pot.
